Your nature checklist

Look carefully before using your phone. Keep a respectful distance from wildlife and stay on paths where they are provided.

Find three different greensLook at grass, leaves, moss or distant trees. Which green looks brightest?Spot a bird or moving shapeWatch quietly from a distance. Can you tell how it moves: hops, glides or flaps?Find a natural patternTry bark, a leaf vein, a shell, a cloud or ripples in water.Notice one far-away detailLook for a hill, boat, building or bird. Frame it wide first, then use modest zoom if you want a photo.

Use a phone as an observation notebook
